• Citizen of the Year Awards

    The Citizen of the Year Awards is a special event that recognizes people or organizations for their outstanding volunteerism and commitment to the community. The Citizen of the Year Awards will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Masonic Hall in Martinez. 

    RSVP required. Tickets are $55 per person or $500 for a table of ten (10). The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, April 10th. To purchase tickets please contact the Martinez Chamber of Commerce at (925) 228-2345 or email Julie@martinezchamber.com.

    Lifetime Achievement Award

    The recipient of this award is an individual who has given volunteer community service to the Martinez Community as a whole as well as recognized for work in other communities that the recipient has been involved.

    The recipient of this award will be judged upon the quality and quantity of volunteer service and work provided throughout their lifetime.

    The recipient of this award will be judged as a “well rounded” individual, as well as, a significant contributing member of our community, (i.e. business, religious, educational, etc.)

    Woman & Man of the Year

    The recipient of this award will be someone who has given volunteer community service to the Martinez Community as a whole.

    The recipient of this award will be judged upon the quality and quantity of volunteer service and work provided to our community during the past year.

    The recipient of this award will be judged as a “well rounded” individual, as well as, a significant contributing member of our community, (i.e. business, religious, educational, etc.)

    Young Woman & Young Man of the Year

    The recipient of this award will be judged as a “well rounded” individual, as well as a significantly contributing member of our community. (i.e. Religious, Educational, Athletic, School Activities, Musical, Environmental, Social Responsibility, etc.)  The selection committee will use the same guidelines as above when judging the Young Woman and Young Man of the Year nominees.

    Service Without Borders

    The recipient of this award is one individual who does not live in Martinez and has given volunteer service to the Martinez Community as a whole.

    The recipient of this award will be judged upon the quality and quantity of volunteer service and work provided throughout their lifetime.

    Educator/Teacher of the Year

    The recipient of this award is an individual who must be an educator or teacher in the Martinez Unified School District or a Mt. Diablo School District serving Martinez residents. This person does not have to live in Martinez, but must work in one of the two school districts.
